Hello, my name is Michelle Bourgeois! My (Short) STORY-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I live In Pensacola, Florida for about another 30 days. After that, I'll be living and working in Longmont, Colorado! I believe: In finding the good in every person, in seeing the glass as half full, and in the power of collaboration to make great ideas come to life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Unabridged Version... Once upon a time there was a technology integration specialist who lived a happy, quiet life in Pensacola, Florida (or Longmont, Colorado, depending on when you read this). Every day she spent her time wandering around her school (or her new district), classroom to classroom, helping teachers use technology tools such as digital cameras, iLife, and iWork, and wikis effectively. Until one day she realized that while she was quite comfortable telling teachers that “not enough time” wasn’t a good excuse, she was using that very same excuse to justify her reasons for not exploring new and wondrous web tools. Because of that, she developed her very first .mac web page where she shared her presentation materials, handouts and links to published articles stored across the web. Because of that, she started keeping her bookmarks in Del.icio.us and communicating with her peers on Twitter. Because of that, she began collecting her best work to post to the Apple Learning Interchange, and Flickr, sharing her ideas on her blog, podcasting about learning with laptops, as well as creating a network of colleagues who shared their work as well. Until finally, she could say that she too was truly learning something new every day. Ever since then, she’s not only encouraged teachers to try something new, she’s shared her own struggles to keep up with new web tools. The moral of this story….practice what you teach! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAY HELLO!
